| While most felines do not enjoy riding in cars, your cat will most definitely have to make at least a few trips during its lifetime. At the very least it will have to go the veterinarian for a checkup or two.
Whether you're taking your favorite pet on a trip to the vet or to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, there are certain aspects of traveling and safety regarding your cat that you should consider. The safest mode of transportation for your cat is in a secured cat carrier, complete with a soft pillow for the cat to relax on. This way, if there is an accident, there would be no way for the cat to accidentally escape from the car and be injured in street or end up getting lost altogether. Also, an anxious cat will feel safer in an enclosed area and will help to avoid the possibility of the cat jumping on the driver. A nervous cat should not be loose inside the car which increases the possibility of a disaster. Another reason to consider a cat carrier is that some cats get motion sickness, and messy cleanup will be confined only to the carrier rather than the entire vehicle if your poor cat does become ill. If you do not want to purchase a hard carrier, there are soft cat carriers, which were actually created for travel aboard airplanes. Soft carriers, however, do not afford much protection in the case of an accident. All in all, you will probably want to consider investing in a cat carrier for the safety of your pet and everyone who is traveling with it. |
